On March 25, 2019 Gov. Matt Bevin (R) signed into law KY SB 114 (2019), which adds new sections governing notarial acts (including notarial certificates) under Chapter 423 of Kentucky’s Revised Statutes.
While the current “Statutory Short Forms of Acknowledgment” are promulgated in Ky. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 423.160 (and were not repealed by this bill), Sections 13 and 14 of this bill require the Kentucky Secretary of State to promulgate new short form certificates. These new provisions take affect on January 1, 2020.
