Pursuant to the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act of 2019, and VA Circular 26-19-30, Purple Heart recipients can now receive a waiver for certain fees. The Department of Veterans Affairs has updated its “Request for a Certificate of Eligibility” form (VA Form 26-1880) to accommodate this waiver of fees. Accordingly, Docutech is updating Cx3957 (our version of VA form 26-1880) to match the model form. The most notable change is the addition of Box 9B, which asks if the Veteran is a Purple Heart recipient. The new fields to check the box are “VA – Borrower 1 Purple Heart Recipient” (FI 137203) and “VA – Borrower 2 Purple Heart Recipient” (FI 137204).
