On March 20, 2020 Gov. Charlie Baker (R-MA) issued COVID-19 Order No. 12, which permitted the conditional deferrals of certain inspections on home safety equipment as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. On June 26, 2020 Gov. Baker signed COVID-19 Order No. 41, which rescinds Order No. 12 effective July 10, 2020 (both orders are available at: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-state-of-emergency). Additional details about the effect of this rescission can be found on the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services’ website (https://www.mass.gov/service-details/preparing-your-home-for-a-smoke-and-co-alarm-inspection).
We created Cx23809 as an “upon request” document for Order No. 12 (for details, see: https://compliance.docutech.com/2020/03/25/new-document-ma-deferment-of-smoke-and-carbon-monoxide-detector-installations-cx23809/). Now that this Order is rescinded, Cx23809 can no longer be used and we will be unassigning this document for clients who have had it assigned.
