# Document Updates: Margin Change for Virginia Recordable Documents

Pursuant to a review of Virginia state recording requirements, it was determined that at least one county requires a top margin of 1.25 inches on all recorded instruments. Although our current top margin for Virginia is 1.2 inches, we have decided to increase the top margin for Virginia recordable documents to 1.5 inches to allow for an increased margin of error when copying or printing recordable documents. Please note that changes to custom documents will not be made.
This minor margin change will be pushed to Production as the document changes are completed, beginning immediately. If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, or if you would like to increase the margin on your custom Virginia recordable documents, please contact Client Support at 1.800.497.3584.
