Among the changes were an update to the “Caution” section just below section 5 and a reorganization of the Signature of taxpayer(s) section. The fee for each return request has been changed from $50.00 to $43.00. The IRS made significant changes to the General Instructions section on page 2 of Form 4506. They have also updated the Chart for individual returns section to update the “mail to:” addresses and which state or commonwealth is included in each group. These changes will take effect on November 7, 2020.
