Topics: In the News, Compliance News Alert

On April 5, 2021 Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) signed into law N.M. SB 12 (2021), which repeals the Notary Public Act (N.M. Stat. Ann. §§ 14-12A-1 et seq.) and Uniform Law on Notarial Acts (Ibid. §§ 14-14-1 et seq.). These acts are substantively replaced by a new Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts which, inter alia, provides support for Remote Online Notarizations.

The provisions of the new Acts “apply to notarial acts performed in this state on and after January 1, 2022” (Ibid. § 37)

We are currently reviewing this bill to determine any impact, and evaluating any modifications, to our document library and/or systems. Any modifications we make as a result will be announced on our website (https://compliance.docutech.com/).
