Document Update: Informed Consumer Choice Disclosure Notice (Cx41)

On January 6, 2022, the Department of Veterans Affairs published Circular 26-22-02 regarding the updating of VA Form 26-0592, Counseling Checklist for Military Homebuyers (Cx3521). Circular 26-22-02 states:
“Each active-duty Service member who applies for a VA-guaranteed home loan must be counseled through the use of VA Form 26-0592, Counseling Checklist for Military Homebuyers. VA Form 26-0592 has been updated to include information pertaining to recent changes in VA home loan policy and law. Specifically, the checklist now explains how Veterans with a pre-discharge claim pending can pursue exemption from the VA funding fee. It also includes direction for active-duty Service members awarded the Purple Heart to provide documentation of the award to be considered for VA funding fee exemption.”
VA Form 26-0592 dated before December 2021 should be discontinued immediately. The new Dec 2021 version of VA Form 26-0592 is now on Stage servers and will be live on Production servers on January 13, 2022.
