# Compliance News: HUD Announces Rescission of Multiple Appraisal Policy Mortgagee Letters

On March 19, 2025, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development published [Mortgagee Letter 2025-08](https://www.hud.gov/sites/default/files/OCHCO/documents/2025-08hsgml.pdf) entitled Rescinding Multiple Appraisal Policy Related Mortgage Letters. This Mortgagee Letter rescinds several policy changes issued in ML 2024-07, ML 2024-16, and ML 2021-27. This update appears to rescind the requirement to provide a Notice of Right to Request a Reconsideration of Value (ROV) to the borrower at the time of loan application and again when the appraisal report is provided to the borrower. Docutech is currently reviewing these policy changes to determine how they will impact our document library including our Notice of Right to Request a Reconsideration of Value (Cx27674).
