# Document Updates: TX Disclosure Statement Required for Residential Construction (Cx4262)
Sep 29, 2025
Texas Property Code §53.255(a) requires that, before executing a residential construction contract, the original contractor must deliver a disclosure statement to the property owner. Subsection (b) provides the statutory language that must be included in the disclosure.
Following an audit of this document, we made minor updates to Cx4262. Most of the revisions involved replacing terms such as “retainage” and “withholding” with language that more closely aligns with the statute, such as “statutory reserve” and “reservation.”
These changes are available for testing on Stage & Stage 2 servers and will take effect on October 7, 2025. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Client Support at 1.800.497.3584.
