Per LSA-C.C. Art. 3352(4), only “the municipal number or postal address of the property, if it has one” is required for recording, which is why Cx1356 “HELOC Mortgage - LA” did not contain a legal description previously.
To avoid recording rejections and because Docutech agrees that it is good practice to include the legal description in all security instruments, under the section “GRANTING OF MORTGAGE” in Cx1356, the text:
“The Property or its address is commonly known as [Property Address (Full) (FI 15352)].”
has been replaced with:
“The following described property is located in the Parish of [Property County (FI 1278)]:
[Legal Description - Long Version (FI 1709)] which currently has the address of [Property Address (Full) (FI 15352)].”
