The fee increases from 1.00% to 1.50% for loans receiving a firm commitment on or after October 1, 2026. Consequently, changes have been made to the Data Integrity Checks that apply to Section 184 loans. For purposes of these Data Integrity Checks, Conditional Commitment Issue Date (FI 51261) will be used as the Section 184 firm commitment date and will determine which set of Section 184 checks applies. **Retired Data Integrity Checks** Obsolete Section 184 Data Integrity Checks related to loans closed before July 1, 2023 have been removed. **Updated Data Integrity Checks** The two existing checks, a Warning and Error version based on system default FHA UFMIP/Annual MIP Data Integrity Check Options (FI 109898), have been updated to only trigger when Conditional Commitment Issue Date has a value before October 1, 2026. The text has been updated as follows: "The Section 184 Indian Home Program Upfront Loan Guarantee Fee Percent should be 1.00% and the Annual Loan Guarantee Fee Percent should be 0.00% for Firm Commitments before 10/1/2026. The UFMIP rate on this loan is currently set to {UFMIP FI 748 Displayed Here}%. The MIP rate on this loan is currently set to {MIP FI 1104 Displayed Here}%." **New Data Integrity Checks** Two new checks, a Warning and Error version based on system default "FHA UFMIP/Annual MIP Data Integrity Check Options," have been added for Section 184 loans. The new checks have similar conditions to the existing checks, but trigger when: - Conditional Commitment Issue Date is on or after October 1, 2026, or is empty; and - PMI/MIP/VA Funding Financed Premium Percent (FI 748) is not 1.50%; or - Mortgage Insurance Premium, 1st Renewal Percent (FI 1104) is populated with a value other than 0.00%. The message states: "The Section 184 Indian Home Program Upfront Loan Guarantee Fee Percent should be 1.50% and the Annual Loan Guarantee Fee Percent should be 0.00% for Firm Commitments on or after 10/1/2026. The UFMIP rate on this loan is currently set to {UFMIP FI 748 Displayed Here}%. The MIP rate on this loan is currently set to {MIP FI 1104 Displayed Here}%." **Effective Date** These changes are available for testing on Stage & Stage 2 servers and will take effect on **October 1, 2026**.
