Document Updates: GA Application for Homestead (Cx1016)

Written by Will Newsom | Feb 21, 2024 10:49:16 PM

A resident homeowner in Georgia is entitled to a homestead exemption on their home and land, if the property is their legal residence and permanent residence, as of January 1 of the taxable year.  Please note that both “resident” and “homestead” are defined by Georgia statute. In order to request this exemption, borrowers must submit the model form Application for Homestead Exemption (Cx1016).

Following a review of the document and print logic associated with the Cx1016, Docutech has modified that logic slightly to ensure that a copy of the application is generated for each borrower unless the loan file indicates that borrowers are married, in which case the identified married pair will receive a single application.

These changes are available for testing on Stage and Stage 2 servers and will take effect on February 23, 2024. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Client Support at 1.800.497.3584.
