For Remote Online Notarizations (RONs), Mont. Code Ann 1-5-610(10) requires the notarial certificate to identify the “place within the United States where [the] principal(s) was/were physically located at the time of [the] notarial act.”
Consequently, all Montana RON acknowledgments and jurats have been updated to include borrower location fields. Additionally, all Montana Ink Sign and In-Person Electronic Notarization (IPEN) acknowledgments and jurats have been updated to better align with the language in the notary certificate short form examples in Mont. Code Ann 1-5-610.
