Conn. Gen. Stat. Ann. § 49-7b, which is effective July 1, 2026, states:

  • Not later than ten days prior to the date of the closing in a mortgage loan transaction, each creditor, as defined in section 49-6a, shall notify the mortgage loan applicant, in writing, that: (1) Standard homeowners insurance policies do not cover flood damage and related losses; (2) flood damage to property may occur regardless of whether the real property is located in a designated flood zone; and (3) the applicant may wish to consult a licensed insurance producer or surplus lines broker concerning the availability and benefits of obtaining flood insurance.
  • The notice required by subsection (a) of this section shall be written in plain language and signed and dated by the mortgage loan applicant to acknowledge receipt of such notice. Each creditor shall keep and maintain a copy of such notice with the mortgage loan applicant's mortgage records.

To fulfill this requirement, we have created Cx29024 “CT Flood Damage and Insurance Notice”.

Cx29024 default print configurations are:

  • State Code (FI 2279) = Connecticut

  • Document Package Type (FI 18215) = Initial Disclosure

  • Closing Date On or After 07/01/2026 (FI 194350) = Yes

The new print trigger FI 194350 is set to “Yes” by Global Standard Value field mapping if:

  • Closing Date (FI 678) is on or after July 1, 2026; or
  • FI 678 is empty, but Today's Date Plus 10 Days (FI 56279) is on or after July 1, 2026.

These changes are available for testing on Stage & Stage 2 servers and will take effect on May 20, 2026. If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, please contact Client Support at 1.800.497.3584.
