2014 Miss. Laws ML No. 12 (H.B. 696) was recently passed which amended Miss. Code Ann. § 89-5-24(2) to clarify that “the name, mailing address and telephone number of every grantor, grantee, borrower, beneficiary, trustee or other party” to the security instrument be included on the first page of such instrument (as opposed to the business address).
This information currently prints on the first page of our standard conventional and FHA instruments, with “Grantor(s)” and “Grantee” being listed accordingly. In order to better match the language of Mississippi’s requirements, we will be modifying the caption “Grantee:” to be “Grantee/Beneficiary:”
