Currently under Maryland law, the state license number of a licensed mortgage lender and licensed mortgage loan originator must be disclosed on each security instrument that is recorded (see Md. Code Ann., Real Prop. § 3-104.1 and Md. Code Regs. 09.03.06.07[D] & 09.03.11.02). On May 31, 2017, the Commissioner of Financial Regulation adopted proposed amendments to Ibid. 09.03.11.02 which modifies the provisions to allow such licensees to disclose their NMLS numbers instead to fulfill these requirements (see http://www.dsd.state.md.us/MDR/4413/Assembled.htm for the final rule).
In our system, the NMLS numbers are currently printing on the Maryland security instruments, pursuant to Federal regulations under 12 CFR § 1026.36(g)(2)(iv). However, we will review these adopted amendments in detail to determine if any additional changes are necessary. Any modifications we make will be announced on our website (http://blog.docutechcorp.com/category/document-updates).
