Last year, Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) signed into law 2017 Cal. Legis. Serv. ch. 828 (S.B. 173), which “remove[s] the [Bureau of Real Estate] from the Department of Consumer Affairs and . . . make[s] it a department within the Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Agency and rename[s] the bureau to the Department of Real Estate” (see http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180SB173); basically transforming the Bureau back into a Department, as it was prior to July, 2013 (see http://blog.docutechcorp.com/document-updates-various-california-disclosures-part-2). This change takes effect on July 1, 2018.
