On December 19, 2018 Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) signed into law OH SB 263 (2018) which (inter alia) enacts the “Notary Public Modernization Act” by amending various sections of Chapter 147 of Ohio’s Revised Statutes. Subsection 3(a) of this bill stipulates that this bill “shall take effect six months after this act’s effective date,” which is approximately September 19, 2019 (the Ohio Secretary of State has yet to specify the exact effective date).
