On December 4, 2018 FNMA posted the following:
“Fannie Mae Change of Address: We have moved our corporate headquarters to the following:
Fannie Mae
Midtown Center
1100 15th Street, NW
Washington, DC 20005
We have updated this address in the List of Contacts in the Guide and on mortgage assignment forms 3741, 3742, 3743, 3744, 3745 and 3746. Lenders should begin using the new address immediately, and must discontinue using the old address by February 1, 2019.” (FNMA Ann. SEL-2018-09; available directly at: https://www.fanniemae.com/content/announcement/sel1809.pdf)
On January 18, 2019 FNMA announced the following (in relevant part):
“Fannie Mae has extended the effective date for mortgage assignment forms to April 1 to give lenders more time to update their assignments, and additional flexibility for document custodians to certify loans that still have the previous address. All loans with notes dated on or after April 1 must have the new Fannie Mae address on the associated assignment. . . .
. . . to avoid potential certification delays, lenders should begin using our new corporate address as soon as possible.” (see “Loan Delivery Release Notes Summary” at: https://www.fanniemae.com/singlefamily/loan-delivery).
We would like to remind clients that if they are passing to us defaults for investor/assignment addresses that they may want to review any defaulted addresses they are currently using for FNMA. If clients have questions on this matter, please contact Client Support at 1.800.497.3584.
