In order to provide clarity, we will be updating the Indiana Property Tax Benefits form (Cx14885) to include a cover sheet with instructions for the document. According to Ind. Code Ann. §6-1.1-12-43(d)(2), “A closing agent […] in reproducing the form, must use a print color prescribed by the Department of Local Government Finance.” The instructions on the form state the colors prescribed by the Department of Local Government Finance are gold or yellow. Therefore, the form Cx14885 that prints with First American Docutech closing packages for the state of Indiana is provided for informational purposes only and must be reprinted on gold or yellow paper to comply with Indiana law. The newly added cover sheet on Cx14885 serves as a reminder of these requirements. Other than the addition of a cover sheet, no other changes have been made.
