The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) has updated their version of the Fair Lending Notice. Cal. Code Regs. 21, § 7114 provides a model form with several classifications identified as illegal to discriminate against. Additionally, Cal. Health & Safety Code § 35830 adds several classifications and allows the secretary to issue rules necessary to interpret and enforce the provisions of this law.
Pursuant to this delegated authority, the secretary has added the classification of veteran or military status. The DFPI has published a new model form (found here: https://dfpi.ca.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/337/2021/10/DFPI-1977-FAIR-LENDING-NOTICE.pdf). Accordingly, Docutech has updated our Cx991 and Cx16170 to match the model form.
