Document Updates: Multi-Doc Collection Changes for W-8BEN and W-9 (Cx7938 and Cx22)

May 31, 2022

Topics: Document Updates

Docutech is adding functionality to support alternate configurations for the W-8BEN (our Cx7938) and W-9 (our Cx22) IRS forms.

Some clients have requested the ability to control the copy logic that triggers our copies of the W-8BEN and W-9. We are adding new field and Multi-Doc Collection functionality that allows clients to trigger each copy of the W-8BEN and W-9 forms based on their needs. Note that the logic will remain the same as it is today unless the new fields are set.

New Fields

The new fields that allow control over when the W-8BEN and W-9 print are:

W-8BEN:

Print Borrower 1 Foreign Individual W-8BEN (155333)

Print Borrower 2 Foreign Individual W-8BEN (155334)

Print Borrower 3 Foreign Individual W-8BEN (155335)

Print Borrower 4 Foreign Individual W-8BEN (155336)

W-9:

Print Borrower 1 W-9 (155329)

Print Borrower 2 W-9 (155330)

Print Borrower 3 W-9 (155331)

Print Borrower 4 W-9 (155332)

New Multi-Doc Collections (MDCs)

The W-8BEN (Cx7938) is being moved to a new MDC that will print a copy when:

NEW Print Borrower [x] Foreign Individual W-8BEN = Yes

OR

((Borrower [x] Full Name is NOT empty AND Borrower [x] Is Guarantor is NOT Yes) AND Borrower [x] Permanent Resident/Qualified Alien Status = 2, 4, or 5 (Not a Permanent Resident or Qualified Alien, Foreign National, or Unknown)) AND NEW Print Borrower [x] Foreign Individual W-8BEN is NOT No

The W-9 (Cx22) is also being moved to a new MDC that will print a copy when:

NEW Print Borrower [x] W-9 = Yes

OR

((Borrower [x] Full Name is NOT empty AND Borrower [x] Is Guarantor is NOT Yes) AND Borrower [x] Permanent Resident/Qualified Alien Status = 1 or 3 (Permanent Resident or Qualified Alien or U.S. Citizen/Not Applicable)) AND NEW Print Borrower [x] W-9 is NOT No

These new fields and MDCs will be in place on Production servers on June 7, 2022 and are on Stage servers now for testing. If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, please contact Client Support at 1.800.497.3584.
