As an extension of our continuing security instrument audit, and as a result of DocuTech’s ongoing commitment to being a leader in mortgage-industry compliance, we are initiating a comprehensive update to the notary acknowledgment language on our security instruments.
Although current acknowledgement language in use by DocuTech is legally compliant, the language is being updated to more closely follow the notary language suggested for each state. This model language was collected and organized as part of our updated Notary Acknowledgement matrix, which is now available on the compliance resource page. This matrix serves as a comprehensive reference resource for clients seeking to properly acknowledge their security instruments. To this end, the matrix includes the specific language suggested by each state for notary acknowledgments, in addition to the language specified for power of attorney, married couples, corporations, members of the military, representatives, trustees, public officers, and acknowledgements taken outside the state.
The first of these changes to the notary language will begin printing on November 1, 2013, with the rest following shortly thereafter. If you have any questions or concerns about the Notary Acknowledgement matrix, or the changes to the notary language, please contact Client Support at 1.800.497.3584.
