Document Updates: Various Montana Notary Acknowledgments and Jurats

Montana Senate Bill 306 (https://legiscan.com/MT/text/SB306/2015) was enacted on May 4, 2015 and becomes effective on October 1, 2015. MT SB 306 amends Title 1, Chapter 5, Part 6 of the Montana Code Annotated, which prescribes new formatting for notarial certificates acknowledgements in an individual or representative capacity, as well as a new jurat format.

Although the bill does not become effective until October 1st, the updated notaries can be used before the effective date, per communication we received from the office of Montana’s Secretary of State.
