Document Update: Construction Version of California HELOC Deed of Trust (Cx1362)

To help meet certain recording requirements, we updated the construction version of Cx1362 ("HELOC Deed of Trust - CA") as follows:

• If Field 60136 ("Loan Proceeds Used for Construction or Repair/Remodeling") = Yes, the document title will display as "Construction Deed of Trust" (replacing "Construction Trust Deed").
• If Field 60136 = Yes and Field 99 ("Amortization Type") = Adjustable Rate, the first sentence will read: "This Construction Deed of Trust secures an obligation which calls for payment of interest at a variable interest rate."
• If Field 60136 = Yes, the first-paragraph text "THIS DEED OF TRUST . . ." will read: "THIS CONSTRUCTION DEED OF TRUST ("Deed of Trust") . . ."
• If Field 60136 = Yes and Field 18100 ("MERS") = Yes or No, the footer will read: "HELOC - CA Construction Deed of Trust [with MERS]".

These changes are available for testing on the Stage and Stage 2 servers and will take effect on April 28, 2026. If you have questions, please contact Client Support at 1.800.497.3584.
