Document Updates: Maine MERS Assignment of Mortgage (Cx1529)

Fannie Mae has announced that Exhibit A in Form 3749 “MERS Mortgage Assignment (Maine)” has been updated to reflect recent changes to MERS Rule 2.

The main changes which have been made to Cx1529 “ME Assignment of Mortgage” are:

• In the footer, the version date has been updated to “07/2021 (rev. 07/25)”.
• Under Rule 2 of Exhibit A, the Section has been updated from “5” to “6”.
• At the end of Section 6(a), the following sentence has been added: “Each Member affiliated with a MERS Loan agrees and acknowledges that when MERS is identified as Nominee of the “lender and lender’s successors and assigns” in the Security Instrument, MERS as Nominee is the Mortgagee of Record in the Security Instrument for and on behalf of the Note Owner and/or the Note Holder.”
• All references to “MERSCORP Holdings” are now “MERSCORP”.
